TrikeBuggy Foot Steering Kit

Assembly Instructions

The TrikeBuggy Foot Steering Kit allows the pilot to fly virtually hands-free! Adjusted correctly, this accessory gently steers the TtrikeBuggy by simply turning the front wheel of the trike with your feet.

Please understand that this is not meant to be used during close to the ground flying, but rather on longer cross-country flights where you have some ground clearance.

TrikeBuggy Foot Steering Kit

Attach your risers to the TrikeBuggy and clip the adjustable end of the Foot Steering Kit to the upper part of the brake handle. This allows you to use the handle while flying without the clip getting in your way. Adjust close to the longest possible position using the cord keeper on the cord.

For the Bullet:
From the Brake end, bring the cord down through the guide that is held at the "hip" of the Side Bars by the double-wrap Velcro rings supplied.

Cross the cords under the trike and bring them to the ends of the foot pegs. Tie a Bowline knot in the end of the cord around the end of the foot pegs on the Flexifoil Kite Buggy.

Adjustment of the Foot Steering Kit

During flight, climb to a high enough altitude that you have room to fly and not be concerned with running into anything. A couple of hundred feet is good for the first time adjustments, since it gives you plenty of room.

Make sure the feet keep the front wheel straight during the adjustments!

Adjust the length of the cord attached to the brake using the cord keeper. Squeeze the button on the cord keeper and gently slide it down the cord until you have just a pound or so of pressure on the brakes.

If you adjust the cord only to the point of "contact" - that is, where the brake is just beginning to give the wing input, it is likely that this will not give much result during foot steering. You must pull about an inch or two of brake to be properly adjusted. This way, when you turn the front wheel to the left, it simultaneously lets off the bit of brake on the right, and pulls a bit more on the left, resulting in a very gentle but perceptible turn.

The brakes are just within reach, and you can use them as you would normally to make turns and make landings. Once adjusted, you can keep the Kit attached if you are using the A-Assists, but not without it- the Foot Steeering Kit will not allow you to push up on the A risers for inflation if they are properly adjusted. Just loosen them and re-adjust after getting airborne.

Please pay attention and fly safely!
