The Powered Hang Glider Trike version of the TrikeBuggy is here! Triking has become a very popular form of ultralight flight, due to the simple and easy characteristics of flight control found on these weight-shift control aircraft. The TrikeBuggy Delta is about as simple as it gets! We have added an "A" frame to the Deluxe Stainless Steel Kite Buggy, incorporating the motor and glider mounts onto the two legs of the frame. This hang glider trike uses a standard paramotor to provide the power, and the cage can be removed to lower the drag since there are no paraglider lines to get caught up in the propeller. The motor can be quickly dismounted for travel or service. The robust stainless steel frame of the Stainless Steel Buggy is the perfect platform for this comfortable little single place trike. We add our heavy-duty aluminum frame that mounts quickly and easily to the buggy and wing, with an integrated mount and clamps that accept most paramotors. A custom motor mount can easily be made to accept most motors. The center of gravity is low, and the seat position is reclined and relaxed. Simply sit down, fasten your seat belt and GO! The TrikeBuggy Delta can be easily launched in the smooth, calm air of early mornings and twilight evenings. Experienced pilots will appreciate and enjoy the way that thermals can be used later in the day to extend flight time. Gaining altitude in this trike using thermal lift is as natural as can be, since the wing loading is ideal with the extra weight. The TrikeBuggy Delta is Part 103 compliant as an Ultralight Vehicle, for use with a single occupant with a total weight of less than 254 lbs. and less than 5 gallons of fuel. No License is required! Upon arriving at the flying site, it takes about 30 minutes to assemble the TrikeBuggy Delta with the Wills Wing Falcon Tandem and about 45 minutes with the Gibbo Manta wing. Wills Wing Falcon Tandem Hang Glider The Falcon 3 Tandem features newly developed and especially robust control bar hardware, along with a stronger, stiffer airframe. The wider control bar more comfortably accommodates pilots of all sizes. All full chord length cambered battens are of durable 7075-T6. All battens inboard of the tip battens have the new lever type rear tips. The sail features a full leading edge length mylar pocket and a heavy duty trailing edge. The airframe and sail design combine to produce a glider with exceptional load carrying capacity, that slows down extremely well and retains excellent handling qualities across a hook in weight range from 185 lbs to 500 lbs. Landings are easy, with relatively light flare pressures, even in light winds. The Falcon 3 Tandem features a nose cone, an improved sail cut and cleaner sail, and a new washout tube configuration that supports both the number two and three battens via a carbon transverse batten. The minimum pack length for shipping or transport for the Falcon 3 Tandem is 156 inches. However, the entire wing folds up to fit into a canvas bag that is included with the package and has a length of 253 inches. Professional tandem instructors who have tried the Falcon 3 Tandem agree that it offers the best all around handling qualities and the best landing characteristics of any tandem glider available. The control feel and response remains consistent across the very broad weight range, providing students with the opportunity to relax with a glider that behaves well as they build skills and experience their first solo flights. While the Wills Wing Falcon glider is not a trike wing specifically, it has been used sucessfully with light soaring trikes for years. The slow and easy flying characteristics of this glider, combined with the price, make it a popular choice for TrikeBuggy Delta pilots. Specification Falcon 3 Tandem
North Wing Stratus Trike Wing The Stratus uses stability technology from the topless hang gliders to improve performance. By using only one bridle line and an outboard sprog (washout strut), North Wing has achieved excellent pitch stability while reducing drag. The efficient airfoil used by the North Wing Stratus provides superb acceleration through turbulence, while displaying very docile flight characteristics in yaw and pitch. The Stratus shows excellent stall parameters straight ahead and in turns. Hang Gliders are adequate on the light trikes but let's face it, in light lift... most of the time you will keep your engine on. Not with the North Wing Stratus! You will be amazed at how light of thermal lift you can really play with!
GibboGear Manta Trike Wing WHY ALL GIBBOGEAR WINGS ARE TOPLESS Isn't a Trike Wing a cross between a Hang Glider and a Airplane? Yes!!! Topless Trike Wings have so many advantages over wire braced king posted Wings of the past:
Why did the Trike Wing have to be removed for transport? Trike Wings are heavy and awkward in the wind. Mark Gibson decided that his company GIBBOGEAR would change this and become the Worlds first company to offer foldable, transportable Trike Wings. The evolution went through many changes - first was the Wing Bridge, then came the Swing Wing (wire braced) and now the the ultra modern Folding Strut. Triking is supposed to be fun and easy - set up and transport are a big part of this equation. The GIBBOGEAR Manta Trike wing is the ultimate performance glider for this application! GibboGear 103 Manta Trike Wings The Manta RST Wings are not designed to fly at a bank angle exceeding 60 degrees or pitch angle exceeding 30 degrees up or down. I finally had a chance to test fly the GibboGear Manta Trike Wing on the TrikeBuggy Delts last weekend at El Mirage Dry Lake. All I can say is WOW! While this wing would not be suited to first time delta pilots, an experienced trike pilot will definitely appreciate this fine wing, both in terms of workmanship and flight characteristics. The Manta setup was straightforward and simple, using Mark's well done manual (Real Men don't read Assembly Instructions). Before long, i had a beautiful "knife" blade mounted to my little 'Buggy. First few taxi runs revealed that I needed to move the hang point to the rear, as I had to push out pretty hard to keep the glider balanced. Once adjusted (four 1/2" steps), the wing practically flew itself. Bar pressure was light, and it was a pure joy to fly. Certainly much faster than the Wills Wing Falcon Tandem I had been previously flying on the TrikeBuggy. My launch rollout was a bit longer before liftoff, but this wing is almost half the size of the tandem! I used the Fresh Breeze Simonini 202cc paramotor with the cage removed for my first flights, and I will be using the Black Hawk 313cc the next time out. I expect I will have a shorter runway with the added power of the 313. My climb rate was not bad with the Simo, around 300fpm with my body weight of 140 lbs. Cruise speed was around 38-40 mph. When you pull the bar in, the unit really dives into the approach, as you will see in the video! All in all, this is an exceptional wing, made specifically for triking. I had fun training John from the seat of my trike while getting the feel of this new wing!
